The Human Point System Empty The Human Point System

Post by Admin Sun Dec 21, 2008 6:40 am

When you first create a human character, you will choose what level your rider is. You can either roleplay just for fun or you can roleplay to try to move up levels. First, however, you must start by buying a horse. You may only buy a horse that is within 1 level of yours, so for example.. if you start your character at level 3, you can buy a Level 2, 3, or 4 horse. Once you have your horse, you can begin roleplaying together. Here is how you move up in the levels:

The Admins will be following all the different storylines, reading new posts and keeping track of horse and rider progression, and they will award points. Points will be awarded for things like a particularly good ride, a thorough grooming, etc. Usually 1 or 2 posts are awarded at one time. When you have been awarded points, you will receive a private message that will look like this:

"Congratulations, you have been awarded _ point(s) for _________! You now have _ points out of the 10 needed to move up to Level _!"

It is also possible to lose points. If you lose points, you will receive a private message that will look like this:

"Oh no, you have been lost _ point(s) for _________! You now have _ points out of the 10 needed to move up to Level _!"

Once you receive 10 points, you move up to the next level. Moving up in the levels allows you to buy more advanced horses and show at a higher level. However, you will not always be able to roleplay perfectly. Admins will randomly post in topics presenting a challenge to the rider. Challenges may be as minor as a refusal or as significant as a horse tripping and going lame. Remember, these challenges are presented completely randomly and are decided by a roll of a dice! How the rider handles the situation will determine whether that rider loses or gains points and will keep the roleplay from becoming too predictable.

Some challenges will need to be overcome by both horse and rider together (ex. a loss of confidence), so characters must work togehter to take on the challenge.

Still think it's unfair? Here's how it all works:

The Admins have a list of 36 possible challenges. They follow all the storylines and only choose to present challenges when they believe the storyline is too predictable or the rider is advancing too quickly. Not every rider can be perfect, so the Admins present challenges to spice things up and make sure nobody is trying to be a super-human that goes from level 5 to 10 in a week.

If you have any questions, you can send a private message to me. I will be keeping track of everyone's points, so if you forget how many you have, I can remind you.
