Warming Up A Little...

John leads Soul in the Jumping Ring and gets on him. He lightly kicks him asking for a walk. Soul lowers his head gently and obeys. John then asks Soul for a slow canter, kicking him one more time on the sides, but lightly and pulls the reins to keep his head up. Soul lifts his head and follows the reins' pressure. He takes for a slow canter, while John looks around the jumps, deciding where to start from. He lightly pulls the reins to the left, asking Soul to turn around. Soul follows his commands and follows the reins' pressure again, turning around. John then pulls the reins, asking Soul to stop. He does so, and John takes a deep breath "OK, boy, let's see what you got." he says and kicks him on the sides, asking to head at the jump with a slow canter again. Soul lifts his head and obeys his command. He takes for a slow canter and heads at the jump. Success! As Soul lands fully, John pulls the reins for him to stop. Soul stops and lowers head a little then lifts it. John looks back at the high jump they made and pets Soul's neck "Good job, boy!" he said with a smile and pulled the reins a little to the left and kicked him again, asking for a canter. After their long warming up on the jumps, John leads him to the fence door and gets off him. He grabs the rains and leads him back at his stall "Come on boy, time to rest for awhile." he says as he puts him in his stall, and untacks him. He checks on his hoofs if they are dirty. For now, Soul looks clean. John leaves him fresh hay and water and closes the stall door, locking it. He then goes out for a walk.

Lindsey quietly watches the guy and his horse do the corse, then she hops off the fence and goes up into the barn, five minutes later she looks out and sees he has gone. She smiles and sighs, wondering if she will ever get to meet him.
